Project Architect - Student Accommodation & Office Retrofit

Our client is a London-based architecture and design studio specialising in large-scale student accommodation and workplace retrofit projects. They're looking for an experienced Project Architect to lead key projects, mentor their growing team, and help shape the practice as they expand from 10 to 15 people. Position Overview

As Project Architect, you'll lead student accommodation projects from stage 3 onwards, managing design quality, timelines and budgets whilst ensuring compliance with UK building regulations. You'll develop detailed drawings and specifications, coordinate with clients and consultants, and contribute to design concepts for large office retrofits. Your technical expertise and collaborative approach will be central to delivering successful projects and supporting the practice's growth.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage student accommodation projects from stage 3 to completion, ensuring design quality and adherence to timelines and budgets

  • Develop detailed drawings, specifications and construction documents in accordance with UK building regulations and industry best practices

  • Collaborate with clients, consultants and contractors to ensure effective communication and project coordination

  • Contribute to design concept development for large office retrofits and student accommodation schemes

  • Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on architectural design and project delivery


Requirements

  • RIBA or ARB registered architect with proven UK project experience

  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects from concept through to completion

  • Proficiency in Revit for technical documentation and design development

  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations and planning processes

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with clients, consultants and contractors
